A study on “Agricultural Production Practices in Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT)”.Manusher Janno Foundation (MJF) and Human Development Research Centre (HDRC) conducted a study on “Agricultural Production Practices in Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT)”. Professor Abul Barkat, PhD, Chief Advisor, HDRC has led the study. A study findings dissemination meeting was held on June 22, 2016 at the BRAC Centre Inn, Mohakhali, Dhaka. Mr. Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing MP, the Honorable State Minister, Ministry of CHT Affairs, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh was the Chief Guest of the event, while the special guests were Professor Dr. Pradanendu Bikash Chakma, Honorable Vice Chancellor, Rangamati Science and Technology University, Rangamati Hill District and Mr. Naba Bikram Kishore Tripura ndc, Honorable Secretary, Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The two discussants of the event were Professor Mesbah Kamal, Department of History, University of Dhaka and Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan, Professor, Department of Development Studies, University of Dhaka. The participants were the representatives from United Nations, International and national NGOs working in CHT, MJF partner NGOs implementing agriculture based livelihood projects in CHT, individual development practitioners, business enterprises such as AGORA super shop, Meena Bazar super shop and so on. There was a good discussion in the meeting on current issues of CHT such as budget, food crisis including study findings and recommendation.
